In 1977, brothers Enrico and Nino Giacalone, made their journey from Sicily to Shreveport to continue their culinary apprenticeship under family members, Giuseppe Brucia and Vincent Campanella. The cousins owned and operated the family owned restaurant, Firenze, a well-established Continental cuisine eatery. After a brief stint in Dallas exploring and diversifying their Italian culinary culture, Enrico and Nino returned in 1983 to acquire Firenze, later changing the name to Chianti and moving it to Line Avenue where it has prospered since October 1987. In the mid 80’s they also opened a second venture, the popular eatery in Bossier City, L’Italiano Restaurant, owned by older brother, Claudio and Giovanni, Chef.
Today, Chianti offers regional and Northern Classic Italian cuisine featuring pasta dishes, veal specialties, lamb, quails, and fresh seafood.
